Cherokee Rose
by David Kraai

There's a sweet girl named Cherokee Rose
She shines wherever she goes
At the top of the day
The horses all say, "Hay!"
To that sweet girl named Cherokee Rose

She hops on her roan and hits the trail
Off to work the range without fail
It's the passion of her life
Still she'd like to be a wife
That sweet girl named Cherokee Rose

Each day the boys from the town try to string her up and hold her down
Just like some mustang you think you can keep just 'cause you saw it and you want it
But no, she's not like the other girls... all settled and saddled
She's waiting on a dream for a second chance at love after being burned so bad she never thought she'd ever believe again

There's a sweet girl named Cherokee Rose
And be it poetry or prose
She's all my dreams come true
Even ones I never knew
That sweet girl named Cherokee Rose
My sweet little Cherokee Rose
My sweet Cherokee Rose
